Many new notions have been introduced into our educational vernacular over the last decades. Those notions should be reflected in educational change. Though many changes have occurred in the Estonian educational paradigm, the impact of the new concepts does not seem to be strong enough, so the changes are not always very effective. This may be due to the fact that the essence of the new concepts is not properly understood. The paper tries to analyse the key notions of education in terms of modern theories of information and communication as well as social psychology and to show, what impact they should have on the content of education in Estonia, if it were to keep pace with the rapidly changing world. The paper is based on the author’s personal experience and the ideas of Caglioti, Lotman, Schechter and Vygotsky.Downloads
